SanTan Brewing to Host Pulled Pork Slider Eating Contest May 14th, 2009 The SanTan Brewing Company will host its inaugural Pulled Pork Slider Eating Contest on Saturday, June 6, in Historic Downtown Chandler. The finger lickin' contest will headline SanTan Brewing’s Hawaiian Luau scheduled for the same day from noon to 8pm.
“This is going to be a fun event that is sure to attract a hungry crowd,” said Anthony Canecchia, head brew master and owner of SanTan Brewing Company. “With the new 15 ft. extended outdoor patio we’re ready to get our pork on, so get ready for a lip smackin’ good time.”
For the festivities, Chef Bryant will slow roast and smoke 80-pound pigs that are marinated with the SanTan Honey Habanero Sunspot Gold Rub. The tasty pulled pork sliders will be served on freshly baked Hawaiian rolls. For non-contest patrons and spectators, cost for a slider is only $6; or enjoy a full pulled pork slider plate and a SanTan pint for just $10.
Entertainment for SanTan Brewing’s Hawaiian Luau will be provided by Sean Mireau and the Volcano Island Band. SanTan Brewing Company will extend its outdoor patio to accommodate the anticipated crowd.
